Life Festival Oświęcim 2015
Chris De Burgh, UB40, Jessie Ware and Kayah & Friends are among the artists who will perform during the sixth edition of this unique Polish festival. Manu Chao, the legend of the underground scene, will be the headliner of the special Street Life concert. Other artists already announced are: Kensington, Hey, LemON, Nowe Sytuacje – Republika, Mela Koteluk, Sebastian Riedel & Cree, Bednarek and Afromental.
Chris De Burgh – 20.06
Only few artists can lay claim to an equally impressive career. Chris De Burgh is active at the music scene since the early 70s, his records were purchased so far by 50 million people worldwide and the ballad "The Lady In Red" from 1986 is one of the biggest pop hits of all time.
Irish singer was already performing concerts to celebrate the German reunification, the end of the war in Lebanon and for the thousands of football fans at the stadium in Liverpool. Now he will support the LFO anti-war message, appearing on June 20th at the stadium MOSiR in Oświęcim during the special concert "Artists Against War". It will be a unique opportunity to see De Burgh on the festival stage - the artist usually chooses intimate concert halls.
UB40, feat. Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue – 20.06
The most popular band in the history of reggae music has sold 70 millions records, providing hits such as "Red Red Wine", "Can’ t Help Falling in Love" or "Kingston Town". The line-up of the famous British group, which will play on the main stage at MOSiR Stadium, includes its three co-founders: singer Ali Campbell, trumpeter Astro and keyboardist Mickey Virtue. Campbell will also be one of the artists who will participate in "Artists Against War" concert, including first in 16 years stage co-operation between Goran Bregović and Kayah.

Kayah will also perform that night with her own international project Transoriental Orchestra.
Jessie Ware – 19.06.
Jessie Ware, immensely popular in Poland British singer, at LFO will perform a selection of songs from her two albums. Jessie gained popularity in 2012 after releasing her debut album "Devotion" which brought hits such as "Running" or "Wildest Moments". "I wanted to write songs that are both beautiful and bittersweet, like Sade songs. The trick was to mix everything in the right proportions "- said Ware in an interview. The album was a big success – it brought eight singles, gained the fifth place on the UK Albums Chart and a nomination for the Mercury Prize as well as platinum album status in Poland . The second one, titled "Tough Love", includes a global hit "Say You Love Me," co-written by Ed Sheeran.
Manu Chao La Ventura – 18.06
Manu Chao is an icon of anarchists and alterglobalists, rebellious artist, keeping distance from show business rules. He personally chooses places where he wants to play live - this year with his project Manu Chao La Ventura he will perform in Poland only once, at the Life Festival Oswiecim during Street Life concert.
Manu Chao is one of the most socially engaged artists in the world. Alterglobalist, defender of the poor people in the Third World. As declared pacifist he perfectly fits LFO idea. His music, the same as Life Festival Oswiecim, breaks cultural and linguistic boundaries. Musician born in Paris sings in English, Spanish, French, Italian being able to combine all of these languages in one song! He mixes not only different languages, but also styles - in his songs we can find sounds typical for genres such as rock, reggae, ska and folk. On stage he is a real volcano of energy. We believe that in Oświęcim this volcano will explode with double power!
Kensington – 19.06
Kensington is an indie rock quartet from Utrecht, Netherlands. In their native country the band sells out the concerts, and almost every song is a hit. They have already performed at festivals such as Exit in Serbia, Sziget in Hungary and Stonerock in Germany. Their last album "Rivals" was released internationally in 2014.
Hey - 19.06
Hey dominates the Polish music scene almost continuously since 1992. Excellent compositions and Katarzyna Nosowska’s sincere lyrics endeared group the audience, which remains faithful till today. Hey is still developing and delighting journalists and fans with their music. Their last album "Do Rycerzy, do Szlachty, do Mieszczan" was one of the most important Polish releases in 2012. Hey is also one of the best live bands in Poland.
Nowe Sytuacje/Republika - 19.06
Nowe Sytuacje – Republika is a project created by original members of a legendary Polish band Republika, co-operating with vocalists: Tymon Tymański, Piotr Rogucki and Jacek Bończyk. A huge success of the tour "New Situations Live 2014" encouraged musicians to present more recordings from Republika’s repertoire. This year, Nowe Sytuacje perform concerts based on the album "Masakra", mixed with the greatest hits of Republika.
Mela Koteluk – 19.06
Mela Koteluk is a new phenomenon on Polish music scene. After releasing only two records she created her own musical style which is adored by fans and appreciated by critics. Her debut album "Spadochron" won two Fryderyk awards. In November 2014, she released a second album "Migracje", which brought hits such as "Fastrygi" or "Żurawie origami".
Bednarek – 18.06
Bednarek introduced reggae music to mainstream in Poland. His songs are played by major radio and television stations. At the beginning of career he created the band Star Guard Muffin and then named his next band by his own name. The band Bednarek in 2012 released the album "Jestem". "So far, what I am most happy about is that people come for concerts to listen to me and to receive a positive energy" – he said two years ago in an interview with PAP. Solid dose of positive energy we will receive at LFO.
Sebastian Riedel & Cree – 19.06
A band which represents classic Polish blues rock sound. Sebastian is a son of Polish blues legend – Ryszard, singer of Dżem. For over twenty years Cree has been performing music in a style of the the 60s and the 70s rock. It would be difficult to find a Polish rock fan who would not know the charismatic voice of Sebastian Riedel.
LemON – 20.06
LemON has achieved a commercial success, despite the fact that its music is unusual and not obvious. The band’s unique style is a blend of guitar rock, folk and jazz. The leader of the band, Igor Herbut comes from a Lemko family, he sang in folk bands but also as a tenor in choirs. Ukrainian Andrew Olejnik is responsible for an unique, melancholic sound of the violin. Last year, LemON has released their second album "Scarlett" that (like its predecessor) gained platinum status in Poland.
Afromental – 18.06
Afromental is one of the most expressive Polish teams in recent years. A septet founded by Wojciech Łozowski and Thomas Lach is active for more than a decade. Their last album "Mental House" from 2014 is a combination of joyful, rhythmic and energetic music with heavy sounds.
